The Foose Chopper, first shown as a concept motorcycle at the Legends Top 50 at Sturgis in 2004, has been engineered and built for limited production at Quality Metalcraft Inc. in Livonia, Michigan. The chopper will auction at the Palm Beach Barrett-Jackson show March 30 to April 1, 2006.
Detroit, MI (PRWEB) April 1, 2006 -- Continuing its mission to turn todays hottest aftermarket, hot rod, and specialty car design concepts into affordable, street-worthy production vehicles, Detroit-based Quality Metalcraft Inc. (QMC) has teamed with legendary L.A. designer Chip Foose and Dallas-based Unique Performance Vehicles on a one-off custom motorcycle.
The Foose Chopper will go up for auction at the March 29-April 1 Barrett-Jackson auto show in Palm Beach, FL. Originally unveiled as a concept bike at the Legends Top 50 at Sturgis in 2004, the bike has received minimal design alterations from Foose, mostly to bring its styling in line with engineering demands that make it road-worthy.
QMC president Michael Chetcuti says his company can now produce a low-volume edition of all the Foose custom bodywork, should the demand arise. We are all tooled up to do limited production right now, Chetcuti said. This is a piece of Chip Foose rolling sculpture on wheels, and we can bring this type of product to a larger market.
Fooses fluid body design, tank, sides, and fenders form an aggressive outline for the Lowlife Softtail frame built by Independent Cycle Inc. (ICI) of Rapid City, SD; this is the first chassis built around ICIs revolutionary Legend Air Suspension System.
Using this beautiful frame from the whiz-kid Jesse Jurens of Independent Cycle, and Chip Fooses brilliant custom bodywork, weve been working around the clock this month to get this machine built and ready for the road, Chetcuti said. Some lucky bidder can be rumbling down the highway on this chopper by next week.
The Lowlife Softail features narrow frame rails, which allow for better cornering. The Legend Air Suspension mounts flush to the bottom rails, lending a clean line to the overall chassis. The Chopper is further accented with custom Foose Design wheels.
With this chopper Quality Metalcraft continues its productive partnerships with Foose Design and Unique Performance; all three of these outstanding organizations seek to bring together todays best styling talent, engineering, and quality of manufacturing to the supreme collectible vehicles that they bring to the buyer.
Our technical expertise lends the highest standards of true performance to these exclusive and beautiful machines, Chetcuti said. We look forward to future collaborations with great car and motorcycle people such as Chip Foose, Unique Performance, and Independent Cycle."
