Edmond, OK (PRWEB) November 16, 2006 -- Cool Wheel Covers, LLC, an Edmond based manufacturer of a patent pending promotional steering wheel cover, releases its first five officially licensed collegiate Cool Wheel Covers at the 2006 SEMA Show in Las Vegas on November 1st. Cool Wheel Covers sells its steering wheel covers with the five following schools logo or name: Oklahoma State University, University of Oklahoma, University of Tulsa, Arizona State University and Texas A & M University.
Although these covers have been tested by a university to keep the steering wheel 20 to 30 degrees cooler, most fans seem to want to just deck out their car and show their team spirit regardless of whether or not the sun is shining
The company distributes these covers through campus stores, convenience stores, autoparts stores, websites, and other retail locations. Cool Wheel Covers will be expanding its distribution of the covers in Oklahoma, Arizona and Texas before next spring. In addition, the company expects to apply for additional licenses for universities throughout California, Arizona, Nevada, Florida and the NCAA Big 12 teams.
The covers, which shield steering wheels from direct sunlight, and easily store under the seat or in a glove compartment, are made with a polyester micro-fiber fabric that protects the steering wheel from sun damage and heat. "Although these covers have been tested by a university to keep the steering wheel 20 to 30 degrees cooler, most fans seem to want to just deck out their car and show their team spirit regardless of whether or not the sun is shining," says Kim Rolston, President of Cool Wheel Covers.
Cool Wheel Covers is an invention of attorney Joe Rolston IV, who grew tired of draping a towel over his convertibles steering wheel to shield it from the heat of the sun, a problem not solved by a typical foldout window shade. His solution was a flexible polyester micro-fiber fabric that could be stretched over the steering wheel in seconds and removed just as easily.
